FUNDRAISING

COUPON BOOKS - DECEMBER 2014

The Jr. Mavs organization is embarking on a great fundraising adventure and we hope that you will join us. We have looked at many different fundraising options and have found one that we believe will bring the most to both our organization as well as to the people that we sell to. They are called SaveAround coupon books. Now, before you say "Not another coupon book!" take a second to peruse these. They truly have a lot of valuable AND useful offers. Our sale is running from today through December 22nd. All envelopes, sample books and money must be turned in by Monday evening, December 22nd

TRASH BAGS - DECEMBER 2014

In addition to the Coupon Book fundraiser we have going on, we are also selling trash bags. This fundraiser has been requested by several parents, so we decided to go ahead and run it at the same time as the coupon book. The team with the most combined coupon books AND trash bags sales will win the pizza party at Strikerz!

These trash bags are fantastic! At only $10 per roll, they are affordable and very high quality. The deadline for orders to be turned in is the same as the coupon book, December 22nd. Order forms are available at the rink on the information wall.

Please note these fundraisers are not mandatory.

Please contact Dawn Fortner (dfortner2@hotmail.com) or Angie Cunningham (acunningham70@yahoo.com) with any questions.
Good Luck!!

SKATE-A-THON:
We have a very exciting fundraising opportunity this year for those that are interested. We all know how expensive of a sport hockey is, so we have decided to host a Skate-A-Thon during our Season Kick-Off Party on Saturday, September 6th!

If you are interested, you can print off the attached pledge sheet or pick one up at the Centerpoint Community Ice (on the wall where our other informational sheets are). Ask your families, friends, neighbors, etc to pledge either an amount per lap or a fixed amount. 50% of the amount pledged will be refunded to you after your league fees are paid in full, and 50% will go towards the organization for the Financial Assistance Program. The Financial Assistant Program assists players who families otherwise would not be able to afford the sport of hockey. The maximum amount of laps per player is 100 laps, and all donations are tax deductible.

On the day of the party and Skate-A-Thon, players will arrive at the rink and check in before skating. Every participant will receive a wristband so we know who is particpating (public skate will be going on at the same time). Participants will not be charged for skating, but any friends or family members who would also like to get on the ice will be charged the normal public skate fees. Parents, family members, etc will be responsible for counting the number of laps their player skates. We are going on the honor system with this. Skaters will have between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm to do as many laps as they can (up to 100 for the pledges).

Once completed, please check back in at the table so we can record and document your sheet with the number of laps completed. You will then take this sheet back to your donors and collect the money from them based on the number of laps completed. Please make all checks out to the Jr. Mavs. The collected money will be due to the Jr. Mavs the week of evaluations (Sept 15th-19th). Please include ALL the money collected, pledge sheet and players information inside an envelopes. Envelopes need to be put inside the Jr. Mavs mailbox inside the Community Ice Center.

Once the money and pledges are received, we will refund 50% of the pledges collected, from your individual player, to you after your league fees are paid in full. Please note, your 50% cannot be more than your players actual league fees (ex: If your child's league fees are $725, and you raise $2,000, you will still only get refunded $725).

This is a way to help families with the costs of this great sport. We encourage all players to participate in this fun event! Not only will it help offset the costs of playing, but will also benefit the Financial Assistance Program. Its a win-win and fun for the kids!

If you have any questions at all, please contact Ben Fortner at bfortner@outlook.com.

“Our family really likes the products that we have tried. The sports nutrition has been great for our whole family. The products are cost effective and they taste great. Being a busy family we also appreciate home delivery.”

“We just ran out of our energy bars & my son TJ is bumming! He said he has felt better than ever before by eating those before his hockey work outs & games! :)”
